interview season?

does anybody know the exact last date of interviews before med schools stop for winter break? can anybody confirm if it is Friday, Dec 19th, or have schools interviewed literally up to before Christmas Eve?

and then, does anybody know the date that med schools come back from winter vacation? Monday, January 5th?

i'm currently abroad on a gap year and trying to figure out when is the best time to buy plane tickets to potentially account for future II's. thanks!

Most med schools have an academic calendar on their website somewhere that lists holidays and such. It might be a little different for each school.

You may be able to determine this if you can get a handle on the medical school's start & end dates for winter break. Most schools use med students as tour guides, hosts, etc and so interviews are not held while students are on break... also, many faculty interviewers take some time for their families while K-12 schools are on break. This depends on the local school systems but I think it is a good bet that most medical schools will not interview between 12/20 and 1/4 due to a lack of interviewers and students.
