Interview SHOES

No I have not seen that yet and I have been to about 7 interviews. You really do not walk that much IMHO, yeah some but by no means a road march. Just wear some shoes that you are comfortable in meaning that you have worn them prior to the interview and are broken in.

my best advice is simply not go with any shoes at all....I mean, are they judging your character or the type of shoes you wear? have we become so materialistic, that the type of shoes matters?
you should go bare foot, so thta you can truly get a "Feel" for the school....in fact, why wear any cloth at all? just run around nekkid...I'm sure that will impress a lot of the pple on the faculty for interviews...especially all the straight males and lesbian females 😉
Naturalizer has some dressy shoes with a decent heel on them. I got a pair from an outlet, and they are more comfortable than some tennis shoes I have. But I had to break them in first, and after the first set of blisters had healed, I was set to go...so if you have the time, break in your shoes first.

I was going to wear my flat shoes, but didn't like how I looked in them with my skirt suit, so I wore heels. I figured I would bring my flat shoes and change before the tour, but changed my mind in the car driving to the interview. I made up my mind to just grin and bear it. My heels are soft and comfortable (not as comfortable as flats, though). And they did ok even considering all three interviewer's offices were up and down a flight of stairs.
i wore a pair of really cute professional heels for my first interview. first mistake-i didn't break them in. second mistake-i thought they would actually be noticed. i still have a welt on my heel from it digging in. next time i'm going to wear a pair of rubber-soled black boots i have that are comfortable. no one can really tell what they look like if you're wearing pants (which i am). unless you're wearing a skirt, i would go with any pair of closed-toe black shoe/boot. you can get cheap ones at payless, under $20.

Find a pair of shoes that you can walk around for at least 10 blocks in. They may be uncomfortable but as long as they don't give you blisters, it should be fine.
One of my friends had a pair of shoes that not only gave her blisters, but scraped off the skin at the back of the feet until it bled... she wound up walking funny the entire tour and then finally gave in (after the interview) and asked for a band aid and changed into flip flops because blood was getting all over her feet. 🙁
