General Admissions & OTCAS Interview Time Frame

Hi all!

Can anyone give me any insight to how early interviews can be given, to how late in the year they will be scheduled? I understand that there is a lot of variability when it comes to the different programs, but it would be nice to just get a general time frame in which interviews are typically conducted! I will be applying to most Texas OT programs.

I only attended one interview, but my interview was in early January. Also, I was notified about my interview in the middle of December. Like you stated, every school is different so it is hard to give a direct answer. I was invited for another interview, but it was in February and, by this time, I had already been accepted to the school that I first interviewed for.

It really depends on the schools that you apply to. I know that Texas Tech does rolling admissions, so I heard of people having interviews as early as September/ October. Last year, UTHSCA, TWU, and UTMB had their interviews in January and notified of interviews late November/ early December. The latest that I heard were at St. Augustine (ATX campus) in March/ April. So it really varies!

Like everyone else said it varies a lot. Some schools start sending out interviews before the deadline closes so of course its better to submit early but some schools wait until application deadlines to start looking over apps so it can vary greatly. I think most schools will have interview requests sent out Nov-Jan. My earliest interview was mid Dec and last interview was end of February.
