I feel like I need to do numerous mock interviews just to get myself acquainted with the process. is there anything resources that would allow me to do this? im willing to pay

Just ask any of your professors to do a mock interview with you. It should be a similar experience.

Any involvement with ASDA or access to dental students if there's a school nearby? Those were my best ones. They're not pros, but better than someone not involved with dental school at all. Generic interview skills are good. But with students, they shared info and tips about not only their school, but other schools where they interviewed and a variety of interview styles. A few had sit in on interviews as well. They were certainly open with criticism too. None of this 'great job, you'll do fine' stuff you might get from family and friends. I had 1 recorded and another videoed too. Yikes. That reveals a lot. I just did some mock interviews with pre-dents at my school; it was a lot of fun and good to share my own experiences.

I wouldn't go out of your way to pay for services. Does your school offer anything? Like your pre-health people? If you're really uneasy about it, start by just asking yourself some question and saying it out loud. You might know why you want to be a dentist in your head. But can you convey that to someone who asks (without sounding rehearsed or not thought out)?

This is what I've been practicing and it seems to be helping me, so definitely some good advice!

maybe your schools career center may help. I know they help with finding jobs, maybe they do this too since you have to interview for job. I myself was actually going to check that out after I submitted my app.

Dr. Chuck from Case Western Reserve University arranged mach interviews via facebook. I would check for his thread on the topic, but sessions may have come to a close.

Also, if u dont find a program, go to the interview feedback on SDN which students post questions they were asked and other useful info. i basically had my friends "interview" me with these questions. It helped me to know how i would want to answer questions...not necessarily memorize cuz some schools might be truned off if u seem to be spitting out what u memorize. And after a few school interviews, my anxiety went down and i became more comfortable. so check the feedback to help prepare and have things flow naturally..out of about 9 interviews, i got accepted into 8 schools. But like stated above, def be able to convey well why you want to be a dentist..in additon to other questions specific schools like to ask.

How many questions were given to u on average just out of curiosity

Depends on the school and if there are followup questions. Like MWU-IL was 8 main questions, but I had a solid 10 follow-up questions for each. Whereas a school like Temple, you have 3. It never really felt like they had a huge list to ask...just a few they wanted to cover. This is just my opinion, but if they are having to keep pumping out questions to keep the interview going...you probably aren't doing so well.
