Why will you be ticked? I've found it hard to really improve my chances at this point in my life. I'm graduating this friday from BYU with my master's in Physiology and should finish with another 4.0 semester (although I'm only taking 2 classes). After the holidays I'll hopefully be working in some laboratory in town somewhere while I wait to hear back. Other then that, I've been shadowing a dental tech every week/all semester long and am becoming more and more familiar with waxing techniques. I don't know man! It's just depressing thinking about dental school as of late. I've tried and tried for years to improve my application and really thought this year would be...THE YEAR that I would for sure get in ("for sure" as in Nov. 30th). Receiving no good news from schools this month has really gotten me down. Consequently, I'm really getting tired of the "worrying" involved in boistering my application. Nevertheless, I figure that I still should have a shot, albeit a small one, to get in this year so I should just be patient until that time.

Yeah, I would even say you have more than just a "good" shot. If you don't get in somewhere than I'll be even more confused about this whole process. Nothing makes sense!

airsimon...no, I applied two years ago but didn't get in then, obviously. I didn't even interview then. Since then, I've raised my GPA and did a lot of other stuff to improve my application. Long story....

Well I say that because you are getting your masters, your stats are great and you should get in! I am really confused how some people get in and you havent yet... When did you submit your app?

I'm personally more shocked that lemoncurry hasn't gotten in. He's got a both a better GPA and his DAT scores blow mine out of the water. Needless to say, I'm rooting that he gets in.

Maybe you should get one of your awesome professors to call up one of the adcoms at your schools and just recommend that they take a second look at you. Maybe if they could just call up and say hey this kid is really awesome and I highly recommend him and feel that his app might have been over looked that could get you back in the running.

Maybe I should get you to call in for me...good grief! Seriously though, I did write all of my school and two of them (VCU and Houston) said that they would resubmit my application for review. The others (UCLA, Tufts, Louisville, Maryland, San Antonio) told me to just be patient though San Antonio said that I had a letter in the mail which, by the way, magically hasn't arrived in my mail box since they told me 2 weeks ago. No excuses though, solo necessito mas paciencia.

Heck yeah I'm holding out for Marquette! That was a sweet school. Very nice facility, friendly people, solid education and a strong emphasis on technology...all the goodies I look for in a school.

Well hold in there. I would love to see you there. Have you called and personally told Brian that your holding out for them? I mean your stats are tons better than mine so you have got to stand a good chance. I would really call him and just say hey, you know what I really loved Marquette what can I do to convince you to let me go there?

I hesitate to call Brian because he talked about people calling him all the time hoping that Marquette will "through them a bone" (as he said it). He didn't sound pleased about bouts of despiration on the part of poor suckers such as myself. They are my top choice though and I did send him an email saying so.

I guess he didn't say something about that when I was there. Dang! Well I emailed him pre dec 1st and told him I loved the school and thanks for the interview... Man this stress is the stupidest thing in the world for you guys. I wish I could call up and just say hey let these guys in you won't regret it!

I just spoke to someone who was in the same interview group as me that had the same recommendation to retake-he did and got the same score and was accepted. So....my question is--I just retook the DAT and I am auditing due to comp problem/scoring. That will take 4-6 weeks. It is 100% that they will wait til the outcome of my audit to accept/deny me or wait til another retake? Is there any chance they would accept me before the audit results based on my first score??
