Hey everyone,

I have an interview at NYMC and they ask that you bring 2 copies of your amcas application. Am I supposed to bring in a full unedited copy with all the schools I primaried, or can I edit out the other schools I applied to? thanks!

when i interviewed there, I gave them the original amcas essay. don't worry about deleting the other schools.

hmm, you mean you just gave them the essay? Or you gave them a printout of the entire primary along with all the schools you applied to?

I'm fairly sure they only want two copies of your AMCAS essay, not the entire application. I only had one interview (with the Assistant Dean of Admissions??) and was not asked for a copy. Apparently, she had already received and read it...

yah whats the deal? you can get interviewers who havent even looked at your application? i certainly hope someone looks at your application at some point in the process there...

say one is big on research and being that nymc is not how does one go about handeling this during the interview when they ask 'so you realize this isnt a research institution'

Yea, just bring your AMCAS essay. For those that interviewed, any idea when we'll hear back? I was there 5 weeks ago.

At my interview, they said that the first batch of acceptances would be sent out mid-December. Another thread was saying we should hear back the week of Christmas.

ugh io wish i interviewed earlier so there would be a chance of one acceptance by Christmas. So to hear back that soon, when would one have had to interview by?

say one is big on research and being that nymc is not how does one go about handeling this during the interview when they ask 'so you realize this isnt a research institution'

they won't ask you that. in fact, if you ask them, they can tell you about some pretty impressive researchers that work there. my interviewer told me, "we may not be one of the big name research schools, but here you will be in contact the researchers...they do not walk around like gods"
