Precisely. And until you find examples where I lose the context of a thread I am ignoring your sarcasm. 👍

Just because we disagree or you dont find me entirely pleasant doesnt mean that I am forgetting context..... so.... you basically just posted "I know you are but what am I" 🙄

the irritating thing is that you are grabbing 1 word or phrase out of an entire post and spitting out a kneejerk emotionally charged response to something that WAS NOT SAID. There is no room for conversation or discussion there other than to tell you to go back and read, as your statement is just completely invalid. You are just overly eager to jump on something we disagree on to the point that you completely lose any sense of where I actually stand on the matter.

When on earth do you study?

Forced labor without compensation and no avenue to defend yourself against draconian punishment from said employer?

You're right Specter. It's not slavery.

I think you're the only person who would see it as slavery.

Noone is ever forced to pursue medicine. If anyone actually thinks it's similar to slavery, why are they thinking medicine at all?

Asian kids are

:meanie:

But seriously, this is the sort of reckless hyperbole that tells me we have someone who has no concept of hardship

Its bedtime now, so you will have to wait for a more in depth analysis for now.

In the meantime, are you familiar with the statement "grasping at straws"? It isn't a perfect fit, but close enough. I choose to believe you aren't actually dumb enough to think your response to my earlier post was reasonable and are doing it just to troll me like you did kpcrew last month. How did that work out again?

Hardship is irrelevant in this debate. Doctor servitude to the gov. is not good for the patient.

Doctor loyalty must be to the patient not to staunch unelected bureaucrats

Don't worry about that interviewer MedPr; this is the same one who tried to tell me that 6 months is the average wait time to see a physician in this country.

Pfft. This guy. Stop derailing the thread clown!....oh wait.

You had the same interviewer?

Doctor loyalty is already for the patient. Do you think the Hippocratic oath was a brainwashed chant to the government? 😕

I wanted to see your lengthy explanation. I figured you had already written it.

Have you asked anyone who has graduated from med school (of all races) how they feel about the field?

I don't know anyone who is all races

There were 2 very distinct clues that should have told you that I in no way was stating anything factual about Asian culture (hint, one of them is in this post in the exact same way). This question seems to indicate that you missed them both AND missed the reference in both of my last posts on the matter. Observation and inference is kinda supposed to be your thing, isn't it?

You said you had an explanation.

I also said I chose to believe you weren't dumb enough to take that first part seriously.... I still don't... I am going with my conclusion that you are trolling me, but hey, what the heck, right?

The post in question makes the statement "asian kids are" making a joke on the cliche that asian parents pressure their children to become doctors. I follow it with this emoticon: :meanie: which, if you were unable to detect its meaning visually, hopefully the tag of "meanie", the emoticon's name and what pops of if you were to ever scroll over it, would clue you in to the non-serious nature of the comment. Now, I do not expect people to interpret emoticons all the same. That is why the next statement started with "but seriously", which establishes a dichotomy between the first and second parts. The second being explicitly labeled serious, therefore the first being implied to be non-serious and/or light hearted.

Now, as I said, I don't believe you truly to be dumb enough to have not caught that.... so... why on earth call me out on it? well, if we look historically at your behaviors on the forums (at least over the last few months) you came out of nowhere into the pre-med and med student forums and immediately got bent out of shape by a joke made by another member. You then proceeded to follow that poster into ~6 threads that I was previously subscribed to and do what you did here: quote inconsequential posts and nitpick them in attempted and half-baked call-outs. IIRC that almost got you banned.

At first, I was a little confused on what spurred this new wave of behavior. After all, we had been getting along fine following that first little spat (let's call it your "grand entrance" into the pre-resident forums). So much so that you personally asked me to weigh in on your thread detailing the circumstances surrounding you losing your job. This.... I found to be quite odd because I have difficulty believing that an attending physician would think that I would have any insight into the legalities or policy of the issue that the other attendings who were participating in your thread wouldn't have. p.s. even though you did ask that in PM, I dont think this constitutes a violation in TOS for posting PMs 1) because you basically dragged this out of me and 2) because the thread in question is publicly posted. So basically.... to get back on track... a pattern of behavior that is VERY unusual for all of the attendings around here which makes me suspect either a false verified account or someone who is on their first year out of residency and isn't really all that far out from being a student herself which would explain the lack of experience and unfamiliarity with many of the things we have discussed in the past. Remember, I started this paragraph saying "at first I was confused". I think I figured it out. In the recent abortion thread I mentioned that I disagreed with something you posted as rationale for your position (if you forget the context, it was that I desagreed with the statement that it is better to abort than to have a child who is "unloved" as parental love is not the only love out there, but that is beside the point....). After disagreeing with you, you got bent out of shape and started making wild arguments that were completely irrelevant at which point I posted a review of the progression of the thread and why your interpretation of my disagreement with that point represented wholehearted disagreement and the subsequent "hating of puppies" was erroneous.

Since that point, your posts quoting me in more than one thread have been less on topic, more arbitrary in their complaints and call outs, and very much reeking of nothing other than picking a fight. So.... before you get the ban-stick for trudging mud through another slew of threads, please keep in mind that we are here to discuss the OP and not just randomly flame each other. And in general, have a nice day 🙂
