Hi all! I will be interviewing this week at Touro-NV, I'm so excited! 😀 Any pointers? This will be my 2nd interview, my first DO interview, I've interviewed at my MD state school.

Hummmm... well... I don't know if this interview experience will be a whole lot different than your first interview. Maybe you will be more relaxed this time? I would suggest a drive around Henderson, try to find out if you like the city. It is new and booming. You are from AZ?... so the desert shouldn't be that big of a shock.

Be yourself at the interview, they already know you look good on paper now they just want to know if your paper matches the person. Take a look at the SDN interview link; look at your application, practice answering the tough questions.

-Good luck... and see you in August

Be yourself. Smile. Try and relax (this is hardest thing) Everyone there is really really nice.

Read the web site. Read the interview feed back on SDN.

Also remember that as you interview for this school and they are looking to see if you are a good fit, you need to be looking and seeing if the school AND area are a good fit for you as well. I mean that is the way it is with every school as well not just TUCOM-NV.

I would say know something about the history of Osteopathic medicine. It sometimes comes up and sometimes it doesn't. Know your application. or at least the jist of it.

I think try and enjoy the time here and find out if it is for you as well. Ask a lot of questions to Roger (director Corbman) and the students. And keep a couple for the interviewers. I like asking them opinion questions such as "what do you think the best quality of the school is" "what are the strengths of this school" "what do you think are the major draw backs?"

like I said though, everyone is super friendly and happy it seems. And since they are all coming back after their break, they should all be semi-happy and bouncey too. not all tired out from all that studying.

I'm interviewing there Monday too! I'm excited, but I've been eating too much lately over the holidays and my suit is too tight. 🙂 See you there & good luck!

"Be yourself."

Do NOT be yourself. Be what they want you to be.

If you are not yourself, and try to act/pretend someone you are not, and if adcom gets a whiff, you will lose and chance you might have at admission. So think twice before you play with fire. Unless you are a real good actor, you might want to consider being yourself.
Good luck.

They invited you because they are interested in you. Go in there knowing that. It was the most relaxed interview I had so do not worry too much but obviously you are nervous b/c it's an interview afterall. You will be fine. Remember, they invited you guys because they liked you so far. Be CONFIDENT. 👍

I'm starting to sleep restless, I guess its begun! Thank you all for your help and suggestions, I really appreciate it. I'm not much of an actor 😛 , and I think that the be yourself advice works for me! My husband and I are planning to drive up from Phx tomorrow morning and stay until Tues, that way we can check out the area and schools. To all that have been accepted, do you have children?

not unless you count the furry four legged kind.

I am actually living in henderson already. if you would like you can PM me and i will send you contact info.

but definitly be yourself. as OMWT said, you got an interview, so they like what they have seen so far. and it is a pretty relaxed interview. I know mine was. Just don't psych yourself out about it and get too nervous (that is where you can't even speak and puke if you open your mouth... that is a bad thing... so would be passing out i would think)

good luck. and keep us updated

Virgie,

I have 2 and 4 legged children. You won't be alone there. I adopted my kids from Russia as a single parent, thank God for Grandparents!

Hi all!! Well, the interview was today and I just got back from Vegas. I really liked the school, the students we talked to were great, everything is new, there is plenty of room for growth, and the faculty was very welcoming. Initially, I felt that the interview went well even though I was pretty nervous. But like all of us do, I've been going over what I said and kicking myself, "I should have said ....." etc. So now I'll be stressing till next Friday. All I know is that come Sat, I'll probably have a hangover, either due to depression or hopefully glee. 😛

You know what, don't kick yourself. I got into the schools that I kicked myself after the interview. The bottom line is this: If you're saying " I should've said this, I should've said that", you probably told the truth. And they see that. And they love that and will reward it. Best of luck 👍 Do you guys hear back this Friday or next week?

Everyone goes through the "i should have said...." thing. Just try and relax. They know you are nervous.

You probably did better then you think. As long as you were yourself and did the best you could (remember hindsight is 20/20) then you will be fine and things will work out they way they are suppose to.

I know i was very very very nervous waiting for my decision. so my thoughts are with you and everyone who interviewed today.

good luck! and keep us informed and up to date!
