A week ago, I received an email from MEEI saying I was on the waitlist. Then , a couple days ago, a snailmail saying that I was kindly rejected. And now an email today inviting me for 11/30. There is hope yet, even after you cross a program off your list.

I don't know if it was a rejection - but my email said if there are cancellations they'll let me know since all interview dates have been fulfilled.

This whole process is sooo slow, havent heard still from ~ 85% programs I applied to!! This sucks.
 
nu interview 11/30 as above, 11/16 is full

also got the same u of c rejection. so i think its just a sugar coated rejection.
 
Does anyone know anything about University of Chicago or Northwestern? Is one program considered better than the other? Any suggestions if I have to chose between the two programs?

So how about some of the other New York programs... anyone hear anything good/bad? St. Vincent, Mount Sinai, SUNY Stony Brook, St. Luke's-Roosevelt? I see someone posted NYMC - did they mean the NYMC Brooklyn/Queens Program or St. Vincent (which is sponsored by NYMC) ?

yeah but in truth...i think i prefer a rejection notice over the silent treatment...seems like a nice courtesy to know that you can cross a place off your list instead of sittin and hopin u finally hear from them (even if i did get rejected from some places i wanted to go)

+pity+speaking of rejections, u of minnesota sent me an email to me today abt rejecting me.... i would've believed it, but then i read it a second time round, i realized they had rejected me from their peds ophtho fellowship :laugh: ...at least they're confident that i'll be doing ophtho in the first place then!
Gotta take it all in stride, i guess! :corny:

Thanks for putting the list up of interview dates It is a helpful tool.

However, readers should note that some programs on the list appear to have interview dates that are omitted from the list. Illinois-Chicago for example offered me Nov 19 and Dec 10 in an email on 10/16/07 and neither of these dates are on the list above.

I only noticed this tonight as I was trying to use the list to start to think about date changes I (may) have to try to make to avoid going broke and/or insane next month.

As much of a pain as it is to be constantly communicating with program coordinators, it may be useful to contact programs to see if there are additional dates that you (or I) don't know about and may be available before booking flights and making plans.

Anyone hear any news about interviews/rejections from the following New York area programs?

Bronx-Lebanon, St. Vincent, Mount Sinai, SUNY Stony Brook, St. Luke's-Roosevelt? I see someone posted NYMC - did they mean the NYMC Brooklyn/Queens Program or St. Vincent (which is sponsored by NYMC) ?
 
Neither. I think they meant NYMC in Westchester.

is anyone getting less interview offers than anticipated? At this point I don't expect to receive any more, as i feel most programs have sent out their offers. thoughts?
