When offered an interview, is it better to take the school's first available time, or will scheduling it at your earliest convenience not make much difference.

I postponed one interview about two weeks so that it would fit into my schedule better, but now I'm reconsidering that decision based on rolling admissions and what not.

What is everyone's opinion on this situation: schedule fast or schedule easy?

I think if you schedule your interview before the first decisions are given out by the school in question, then you're in good shape. This is especially the case if admissions are rolling; you should schedule ASAP. For non-rolling schools, it shouldn't matter too much, but earlier is usually better; adcom members might be tired toward the end of the process.

cheers

I can't believe some people were already getting interviews in August. My earliest interviews are on the 7th and 21st of October, and then I scheduled my third one for the 4th of Nov. I really hope I haven't shot myself in the foot by waiting until November to interview.
