hello sdn!

i have been checking predents.com, but noticed something odd..
although columbia accepts less than 80 students and penn accepts about 120, columbia has given ALOT MORE interviews out than penn has thus far.

what is the reason for this? three possible reasons i can think of..

- columbia interviews alot of applicants but they are less likely to accept these applicants than applicants interviewed at penn.

- OR many applicants tend to decline thier acceptances to columbia so they have to accept more students?

- OR only applicants invited to interview at columbia update thier predents.com profiles?

what do you guys think?

Columbia interviews 250 or so applicants while Penn interviews 300. It is just by coincidence that many of the Columbia interviewees happen to have a predents.com account.

Columbia has 80% yield of people who got accepted choose the school...
Very high rate...
Thus, most of the people who get admitted to Columbia choose Columbia

Are people just making up numbers here?

Very doubtful that they'd accept less than 80 people to fill a class of 75-ish.

Keep in mind also that predents has numerous compulsive liars. That school's avg has already exceeded last year's average by 1 AA point and 1.5 PAT point, despite numerous people putting 0's for their scores. "ndiddy" is interviewing on a day where they don't work. In fact, he's interviewing at the same schools on the same dates as last year.
