Dude, welcome to my world. I am waiting for those exact same schools as well (and UCLA), with the exception of Duke.

hey Lux, sounds like were waiting pretty much for the exact same schools and have gotten into similar schools ..I actually AM waiting for UCLA...just didnt put them on there because they said they would tell me by Jan 1st or so when I called. Good luck with everything though but hey..maybe ill see ya at UMich..who knows?

i also got invited to yale this week (complete since oct).

I'm waiting at yale and upenn too. and I'll add cornell to the list. I've been complete since Aug/Sept

my friends who were interviewed at yale heard within a month. Does that mean anything?

As for Hopkins, I've met alot of people who were complete in August last year and got interview invites in January. so, i guess all u can do is wait

Just rejected from Duke. (Oww, my pride).

i just got invited to interview at Penn last week after having been complete since late August. i interviewed at Duke in October sometime. I, myself, am still waiting to hear from Hopkins, Harvard, Cornell and Stanford. Though i guess since I just got Penn last week there is still hope.

yeah, seeing people's posts...it really does seem like a crapshoot....im sure everyone here is fairly qualified...just seems random....harvard, cornell, (both complete in septemberish) i interviewed at but still no love from the others...though i did decide to turn in my yale app on the deadline so hopefully theres some hope for that still...

anyhow, good luck to you all with this oh so wonderful and random proccess.

hey kevin thanks for the kind words and congrats on all your interviews/ acceptances. actually I also just turned in my Yale application at the deadline too, so I guess I'm more just waiting for them to update my status page

I've been complete at Penn forEVER (July), so I'm starting to lose hope. I heard the same thing about Hopkins as rCubed, that there were people who had been complete for awhile that did get invites in January.

Stanford is just one of those wait and see schools, since they have intermittently sent out post-secondary rejections to people. but been complete there since August and no word. plus it seems like they are emailing some people and snailmailing others for interviews (like medhopeful- thanks for posting your info as well and congrats on the awesome invites!)

Cornell was a school I did have to wait awhile for, but I got an invite in october there after being complete in august-ish.

UCLA i called them the other day and they said my app hasn't even been sent for screening yet. Complete there since early Oct.

Penn, Hopkins, Stanford, Yale.

Penn -- I've been complete at since very early September, got an interview invite last week from them.

Hopkins -- I've been complete at since mid-September, got my interview invite in late November and just completed interview.

Yale -- I was complete at since mid-September, got an interview invite in early November and interviewed around Thanksgiving. I know they got a ton of apps around the deadline (that was when I was interviewing), so it will probably take awhile to process you guys who submitted then.

Stanford -- complete since early September and still not a word.

already interviewed at Yale (late september), penn, duke and harvard (all in nov). dont know if that helps.

I just talked to someone in the admissions office at Stanford this morning. She said that they are severely backlogged and the fact that I have not heard from them, even though I have been complete since September, has nothing to do with me, it's an internal problem they are having. She said that they are interviewing through April, and that they have not set a date as to when they will stop sending out interview invites.

By the way, congrats, finnpipette!

Thanks for that info, ms. a. I was just assuming they'd laughed and thrown away my app. without bothering to tell me so!

As pointed out in another thread, tomorrow (1/22/04) should be the last day for interview invites from Penn as our last interview day is two weeks from then.

Yale: Complete 11/14, Interview Invitation 1/23.

They said to only call on "TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, OR THURSDAY" to schedule the interview. I wish I could just call now so I can figure out my transportation!

Does anyone know if Stanford is receptive to you if you call them and say that you will be in the area for another interview and if it was possible to schedule one with them? A long shot I know..running out of ideas here.

Tried that, what they'll ask you to do is send an email so they can print it out and attach to your file. However, my file wasn't reviewed until a lot later (I requested for around thanksgiving, didn't get the interview offer until 12/30)

Just got the Yale invite today too. Turned in secondary end of October, listed as complete on 12/1, interview invite 1/23.

It sucks we have to wait till Tuesday to call them though, I also want to figure out my transportation options.
