Interviews during the holidays

Do programs offer interviews between christmas and new years? How about the week before or the week after? What about the week of thanksgiving?

Basically, trying to figure out what the 'black out dates' are for interview where no programs (or few) offer interviews on those days

I had 3 interviews during the week of Thanksgiving. Most programs don't interview between Christmas and New Years Day.

We only interview our own students over the holidays, if at that, because there is no travel involved. We assume most students prefer to be at their home for the winter break and not on the road....

At our program we stop interviewing the week before Christmas and resume the 2nd week of January. I can't promise you that's typical but I would assume most schools follow similar guidelines. After all, we want time off, too!

It seemed like nothing was available for interviews the week of Christmas and in many cases the week prior for my interviews last year. You should look for the interview dates thread from last year. I think it had a lot of this data for specific programs.

I had interviews offered the week of thanksgiving (M, T, W); the closest ones to christmas were like the 22nd and then Jan 2nd.

I just checked my calendar, I had one interview scheduled on December 29th during the 2010/2011 interview season, and I seem to remember that there was an option of others. I think some places offer the interviews during that week between xmas and NYs, but it also depends on what days they interview on and what days the holidays actually fall on. A few of my friends didn't schedule interivews around then ebcause they wanted to be with family...taht interview was a 2 hour drive for me, so i was able to go and come back easily.

Looking at the calendar, Christmas is a Tuesday this year. I don't anticipate programs will be scheduling interviews between 12/21 (the preceding Friday) and 1/2 (Wednesday).
