OK so I know there are a few threads on this already...but I want to get some current opinions. I searched on predents and it seems some interviews can fall in Winter Break such as Jan 5 or even Dec 21. My family wants to go to London for all of Winter Break Dec 18-Jan 7...should I reduce some of those days in case I have a first week Jan interview or should I not worry and hope that I can pick another interview date?? For people who already received invites...do you have a choice among a few dates? But what happens later in the cycle and are all the schools different?

I don't know about all schools, but I was given about a months worth of dates to choose from scheduling my interview. May change the closer you get to the end of the cycle though.

It definitely depends on the school. Some schools have a large number of applicants and hold you responsible for being at the interview date they have set, while others are more lenient. For example, I know that Tufts gives a list of six dates for you to choose from and no rescheduling is allowed. Remember that at some schools, the earlier your interview date, the greater chance you have in making it in. If you had a choice between February 6th and January 6th, it would be wiser to take the January 6th one. However, I guess it all depends on how important a particular school is to you. The first acceptances come out around December 1st, so you may have gotten into your school of choice already and do not have to worry about any more interviews.

Most schools give you a few dates to choose from, but as a previous poster stated, the earlier you interview the better your chances are.
