Since a lot of Admissions Committees meet at the end of the month, is it a bad thing to interview early in the month? I am worried that they will forget about me by the end of the month! Do they usually make an initial decision after your interview and then just discuss the maybes at the end of the month? I might be reading into it too much but my interview for my number one choice is on Nov. 3 and I am hoping the date isn't a disadvantage. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

no not really.. actually MOST schools adcom's meet on a weekly or biweekly basis... so it really doesnt matter when u interview... And in general, the earlier in the process u interview, the better 🙂

Most interview committees dont meet at the end of the month. As the above poster said many meet more frequently.

The earlier the interview the better. Always.

just to add my 2 cents. i was worried about both the time of the month and the actual DAY of the interview when making my decision (Monday vs Thursday vs Friday). i asked around and got some good advice, and i'm glad i took it:

IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT DAY YOU INTERVIEW. JUST DO A KICK-ASS JOB WHEN YOU DO.

🙂

i interviewed on Monday of this week at KCOM and got a call on wednesday that i was in. i picked the earliest day i could interview and just went for it. (thank God b/c it's suppose to freeze later this week there!)

so just aim to do your absolute best on whichever day you go. you are valuable to them, anyway, and they will take you seriously. one of my interviews was really tough but it turns out that i think he was just testing my ability to respond under pressure. he was the least friendly, didn't really care about making me feel comfortable but i just remained positive and pleasant and treated him no diff than any other interviewer.

in short, just do your best and interview early!

good luck!!
