I'm interviewing this afternoon for an assistanceship, but it's not in research--I'll be sort of like an administrative assistant at a guidance center. I'm really not sure what kinds of questions I'll be asked--I can talk for hours about my research experience and research interests, but that's not really relevant here, and I don't have any experience as an administrative assistant, although I have managed databases/files/etc. as part of my research work. Does anyone have experience with interviewing for these kinds of positions? Any advice you can offer? It's a two year assistanceship, so I really want it--it will be nice not to have to search for a new assistanceship next year, and the job requirements sound like something I'd enjoy anyway.
