Does anyone know of anyone who got lots of Pre-Dec 1st interviews and then get rejected by each and everyone of the schools he/she interviewed at? It's possible right?

I know that one school has already invited 400 for pre-dec 1st interviews for approximately 120 seats. Everyone who got an interview is statistically qualified and not all 400 will get in. There's bound to be rejections right? Or does it work another way? They will accept 200 and put 200 on the waitlist and as others reject their offer, the 200 on the waitlist is then given the acceptance one at a time until all the spots are filled? And then what happens to those who got post-Dec 1st interviews?

What do you all think?

If I get rejected to all of my pre-Dec 1 schools . . . then I guess I'll be flying out to those post-Dec 1 interviews after all.

It is possible to be rejected even with multiple pre-dec 1st interviews. The schools interview a lot more applicants then they have seats for, so someones gotta pay the piper... Plus they save some seats for later, well qualified applicants.. The school will interview X amount of students, accpet who they want, and see who accepts them. Then they deal with it by handing out more interviews and plucking from the waitlist till they fill their seats.

Yes it does, because I have pre Dec 1 interviews and that means I am getting in. ( This is what I tell myself to keep from going insane)

I think the average interviewee gets into half of the schools they interview at.

Now what is the average interviewee? nobody knows this adcom top secret crap. For me I hope I have a choice since I have forked out all of my savings to fly around the country.

I think the number of interviewees relates to the % of applicants that accept the schools offer of acceptance. UoP said they interview 210, and accept 190 of them for 140 seats because 75% accepted applicants enroll. Another school that is viewed by more people as a safety, might have to interview 400 ppl, and accept 300 of them to fill 100 seats.

This is a good thread. I've spent hours trying to do the math of how many interviewees versus openings. I can never get a good answer. It would be great if the schools published statistics about interviews:admits along with the rest of their materials. This could make the application process less expensive and stressful for all involved.

Just got an interview at Temple (yay!) and a letter in the package states "nearly 3,600 applicants, only one in four is invited to interview"

thats 900 interviews for 125 spots? wonder how many they accept...

well, if those who don't get in each cycle persist to reapply, the number of rejected students keep building up and up. Thus, more applicants. Those people who have to take the DAT more than 3 times should should considering being realisitic and give up. ...and stop wasting their money to reapply 3-5 times.

Ask them when you go, I'm curious too...🙂

i like your thinking......

unfortunately, not everyone that applied pre dec 1st will be accepted. Why, well they still want to wait and see what is out there. I think that Dec 1st they will send only enough acceptance letters to fill out not even half of the spots! 😱 . But as they go, and ppl either accept or reject, then they go down the list and do sort of "next in line", and send them out untill March!

Even if u get an interview, it might be March before you hear back from them, either accepted or rejected. Life sucks when U have to wait soooooooo long!

I heard some school fill up like 80% of the whole class, meaning like 80 people out of like 200

Does anyone know about Arizona? They only have a few seats but seem to interview a lot of peeps..what do you all think?

arizona interviews something like 350 people for 54 spots but there are probably going to accept 80 this year so right there your chances are less tahn 1 of 5

Temple will tell you straight out that they interview @ 300 people prior to Dec. 1st and accept 200 of them. The rest come later.

hay guyz,
wut's goin on here?

I don't really have anything to add. I just wanted to say that if I didn't care about my post rate so much I would quit this forum.

At the interview, Arizona said that they are interviewing approximately 350, but they are only increasing the # of acceptances to 60, not 80.

Yeap, they said that at my interview as well. Either they interview the other 600 post-Dec. 1st or that "1 in 4" invite ratio is a ROUGH estimate.

okay, so there are a lot of you throwing numbers around out there.
So give the school you think has the highest acceptance rate of the people they interview. So Temple would be high on the list, like 250/300 get accepted. And AZSDOHATSU is hard, like 80/350.

Any others or thoughts. I heard case will interview like 250 an end up sending most of them acceptances becuase a ton of schools won't choose them. So at what school does itreally mean "f you interview you are in"?
