I read some of the interview feedbacks and I was wondering how you should respond to the question "why do you want to go here?" Should you talk about the school's curriculum? Location? What type of answer would impress the people interviewing you? ANd another question I ALWAYS wondered was why pharmacy and not medicine? I myself have asked this many times and was just wondering what other pre-pharm students thought. I'm brand new to this site and after reading some of the forums, etc. I'm starting to freak out about interviews. I havn't gotten any invitations for interviews but I just want to be prepared when the time comes. Plus I don't have any friends who are pre-pharm so prior to this, I had noone to talk to this stuff about/ask about. One last question. Is the interview really important? After they've called you in for an interview how do they decide if they want to admit you or not? Any feedback would be really really helpful!

From my friends who made it to pharm school, i recall them telling me the interview is very important. I think pharm schools give out a lot of interviews, but become very selective during the process. As for answering that question, i think you should answer however you're comfortable in answering it. I would answer it by talking about their curriculum and my interest in volunteering in their community because of its diversity, underserved, etc, whatever you can fill in the blank there. My answer to pharmacy and not med would be my aversion to diagnosing (even though i like that too). i'd make some bs about the flexibility of being a pharmacist and able to work with diferent healthcare professionals and enhancing your meds understanding. Hope that helps. 👍 😎

All of the interviews I experienced were very laid back. It was more of conversation than an interview. Just be yourself and try to take care of any nervous twitches. Even when I was having trouble expressing my thoughts, they helped me get the words out. I told my school that I wanted to go there because of all the great mexican resteraunts in the neighborhood. Then I got serious and told them about the challanges I wanted to take on by going to their school.
