interviews???

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
dont worry about it. last year i got 4 interviews in mid-late october. also, there are lots of people who get interviews into january and february. it's still early in the interview season.

Dont worry, a lot of people dont have them. I don't, I just got processed yesterday though. Most people who took MCAT in August for the first time don't have them either.

I feel your pain. My new plan of action is to look into caribbean schools. Perhaps it's premature, but I'm soooo desperate. Why did I take the August MCAT? Why? 😱

also if you feel like it's getting late to get interviews, then send each school (or dean of admissions) a letter of interest. it might help you to get an interview somewhere.

No worries.... I haven't heard either, and I've been complete for a while... hang in there, good luck, there are still lots of us who have not heard!

Cool avatar! I watched Lion King in SF, and it was excellent! Okay, sorry for going off topic.

To the OP, don't worry yet, it's still early in the cycle. If you have been complete for a while, write LOI. I applied early and I am still waiting for invites or rejections ( 😱 ) from schools. Relax and wait, that's all you can really do.

How soon do you think is too soon to sent letters of intent? I've been complete at most of my schools since early-mid August. Would it be too early to send LOIs?

Hmm Im not sure this applies to this thread but...

I just heard that med schools look down on females who come to interviews in a pantsuit. They must wear skirts. Is that true???

No. Everywhere except the South, pantsuits are probably more common than skirtsuits, and even in the South, pantsuits aren't a no-no, just less common.

I've worn a pantsuit to my interviews in the south and I haven't felt out of place at all. Nor have I been the only female in pants. Don't worry about it.

My files were complete mid-August, and I haven't had any interview with allopathic programs (only rejections here and there). So those who haven't recieved any interviews, I may be in worse shape.

This is what helps me keep my worries in check:

My cousin applied last year, turned in her app around September, didn't get a secondary from UC Davis until November/December, wasn't asked to interview until APRIL and is now attending there (accepted in July off the waitlist).

So it is definitely still early and even a late interview doesn't rule out an acceptance. Good luck to all of us! :luck:

Uh, yeah. Really, really BAD idea to send each school a letter of interest. You're only supposed to send those letters to one or two schools you really want to go to. Trust me, admissions committees from different schools talk and you don't want your number-one choice to find out you sent a similar letter to everyone on your application list. I would suggest just be patient.

hey now... i think a letter of intent states that you will go there if accepted, so you can't send one to multiple schools

oh, i guess u meant letter of "interest," which ive never heard of... whats a letter of interest? are these commonly written?
