Here's my dilemma:

1) I've been invited to present a poster at the 10th International Conference in Alzheimer Disease and Related Disorders, in Madrid. It's paid for and everything. My PI is going, and would like me to go too.

2) The conference takes place in July, starting the second week of my surgery (and first) rotation. Surgery at my school is only a four week block, so I would be missing 25% of my rotation and likely would have zero chance of honoring the rotation.

What do you think? I don't want to reschedule my rotation schedule, and I haven't decided yet on what field I want to go into.

Hi there,
Conferences come and go every year. Your medical school grades will be with you for the rest of your life. If you know for sure that you will not be able to make up this time. (Have you spoken with your Dean of Education?) then you know what you have to do.
