Anyone diagnosing/treating this as a separate clinical entity apart from the usual chronic pain we all see that requires a multimodal approach. Reassurance always works but I don't want to miss something...

I stopped reading at "opiates work too well, and there is no substitute.." Gimme a break buddy..
 
It would be interesting to see the medication lists of his patients.

Also, calling it "intractable pain syndrome" without any attempt to narrow down the pain generators more than that?

Hmmmm...

Also, I think he glosses over the horrendous Rx abuse problem we have in this country right now.
 
we have been "reading" all day, chuckling, and having a good time with it. I am glad i read this.

Because, now i know. And knowing is half the battle.

his entire manifesto, well...

lets just say that he trained 30+ years ago, and his manifesto reflects that.

if anyone brings this to my office, i would recommend that he/she go see him for all of his/her pain care.
 
My favorite part was on page 30 "selecting and training your pharmacist"
Are you friggin kidding me!? This was a good 5 minute read
