My friend had a question that will likely apply to many people visiting SDN:

Next month, I will do an internal medicine sub-internship in America -- my very first US rotation. Yippe!! My I am really scared... Is there a resource that I can use to acquaint myself to the US practice of medicine (i.e. routine stuff, the way labs are reported, charting, P&H, rounding/wards, etc)? Thanks a lot!

Wear a short white coat if thats what other medical students do where ur going. We had some international students come with their long white coats and it didn't go over well at all.

Can you offer something substantial to this thread. This question is for a friend. Bye!

Hmmmmm. Something about that little "Bye" at the end that grates my nerves. Why doesn't your friend post if your friend has a question?

In all fairness, there is no need to be rude.

You did not specify that the question was being asked for a friend. Users expect to be told that, otherwise they will infer things from prior posts you have made. Thus the poster above was naturally confused.

Everything your friend needs to know can be gleaned from First Aid for the Wards and reading SDN.

Speaking of the respected surgeons that you've tangled with in the past....
