Hello
I was wondering if schools had a preference, some of them noted either could be taken. Do they prefer one vs the other? I would full time and it would be easier to take intro as the offer it more, but don't want to if it will look bad.

So I took principles of physics 10+ years ago, which is “expired” to many schools. The intro class fit into my schedule whereas the principles did not so I emailed several schools (UF, UMN, KSU, OkSU, and MiSU if I remember correctly) and they all said it was fine as long as it was 8+ credits and a 2-course sequence. I would contact the specific school you’re interested in just to be sure. When I emailed they all got back to me pretty quickly, you just need to include the course description from your school’s course catalog in the email.

At my school I'm pretty sure Principles of Physics was just one semester and intended for non-science majors, so probably wouldn't have counted for a lot of schools. So definitely check with the schools you plan on applying to!
