Hi! I just recently became a member of sdn and thought it'd be appropriate to create an introduction thread. I'm currently a freshman in high school and found these forums while doing a bit of research on the many different careers in the healthcare field. I've been interested in this field for quite a while now, mainly because most of my love of the biological sciences and the fact that some of my cousins are currently studying in fields involved in healthcare. I know I'm young and should be focusing on school, but I don't think it would hurt to explore a bit. Anyways, I hope I'll be seeing you guys around since I'll be here for a while. Nice meeting you, and any advice or tips you have would be greatly appreciated. 🙂

Are you in high school?

Yes, I'm a freshman in high school. From what I've seen and heard so far, going into dentistry seems to be less stressful and allows more flexibility in terms of working hours compared to medicine. I'd like to shadow a few physicians and dentists to get some more insight on the different aspects of each career path, but I'm not sure if anyone will let someone as young as I am follow them around all day.

Yeah, I am pretty young. At times, I feel like I stress about my future too much. I guess I'm a bit of an overachiever. Thanks for the link, I will be sure to check them out when I have time!
