Hey guys,

I am a current U of Toronto undergrad, and I am DETERMINED to get into Med school after I graduate.

As a first post, I want to know how important is your undergraduate major when it comes to applying for Med school? Many people have told me that it doesn't matter, but there are others who claims that it matters a great deal. I just want you guys' opinion on the matter.

Doesn't matter.

Just make sure you

• Keep up a good GPA
• Do well (possibly all A's) on your pre-reqs
• All the EC stuff
• Good MCAT

In short, be a good complete applicant and your major shouldn't matter.

Thanks so much for the quick reply. In terms of EC stuff, what sorts of things will make an applicant stand out (besides the usual ones like hospital volunteering)? How big of an impact will being a lifeguard or paramedic have on being accepted?
