Invisalign during dental school?

Has anyone gotten braces or invisalign while in dental school? I am seriously considering this and wonder how people are able to do it.

Ya probably a third of my class got Invisalign or braces during school. We had the ortho residents do it at a great price.

I'm about halfway through my Invisalign treatment, and I'll be starting as a D1 in the fall. It really isn't much of a hassle after you get used to having the aligners in. It definitely feels weird for the first week or two (it does ache a little at first too), but after that the only added inconvenience is taking them out when you want to eat. Well that and I feel like I have to brush my teeth after every little snack... All in all, I would do it again!

I am assuming loans will be used to pay for the treatment? And that it is preferred to start the treatment until after I move states?

Unless you have $2-3K in savings to spend on it, you'll likely have to pay for it through loans. I'd wait until you're in school to see if there is some sort of discount through ortho residents or alumni. I got mine back before I was even considering dental school and ended up paying about $3,600.
