so, no, i'm not asking for professional advice, but my dentist today said I would be a good candidate for the invisiline braces. He's gonna refer me to another dude that does them, but my question is this, how much do these cost?

The ONLY reason I am asking, is because I need to let my employer know how much Flex Healthcare Spending I'll need for next year.... that way it will cover my braces. Any rough guesses would be much appreciated!

Thanks

The doctor I work for charges $4500 for a full case. If it is an express case, she charges $2600.

Here's an idea - Call the referral office. Read your post to them. Listen as they quote you a number.

I was gonna give you a guesstimate range from $5K to 10K, but apparently some folks do it for cheaper as the above post shows.

The owners of both clinics I work at, are certified to do Invisalign (the course costs $1000! ) and they typically charge $5000. The cost depends on what type of occlusal problem you have as well as the length of treatment. There are several payment plans available too.

Some insurance plans cover for invisalign (eg.CareCredit). Insurance policies that cover orthodontic treatment should cover for invisalign. You can discuss dividing the payments in small amounts (3, 6, 12 or 18 months) with your dentist. For example, if your procedure fee is $5000, the patient fees are the following (no interest payment plan) :

-3 month payment plan would be 1 667$/month
-6 month payment plan would be $833/month
-12 month payment plan would be 417$/month
-18 month payment plan would be 278$/month

I was under the impression that invisilign costs about 50% more than traditional braces, maybe due to all the send-out labwork required. But I could be wrong. It's usually not covered by insurance if you're over 18. I wonder how this applies to a FLEX account. I have the same option in my insurance, but I haven't taken advantage of it yet.

In my wife's office, the fees that she charges for an invisiline case are $1400 higher than for a "traditonal" case with ceramic brackets and $1750 higher than a "tradtional" case with metal brackets. The cost difference is due to the materials costs (those series of aligners cost ALOT more than a set of brackets and some NiTi wires + elastics).

If a GP is doing the case and offers you invisiline vs tradtional go invisiline (basically an invisline employed orthodontist designs/treatment plans you entire case). If your going to a reputable orthodontist, go tradtional, you'll often get a slightly better result, quicker and less expensively that way.

Could you please forward my burning questions to her? Does she Overnight or 2-3days Guarantee Priority for the express case?! Postop complications are free for the express case? Does she move teef with forcep #150 or #151? if she does so, is it before or after she puts on the brackets?

The ortho I work for charges $4-$7K per case, depending how simple the case is. Average is $5k with 13-18 trays for the tx.

Why pay for ortho when you can have your teef extracted for free by your pals?! I heard complete dentures are in!

I just got invisalign. I'm an express case so I only have 9 upper aligners and 4 lower aligners. The dentist (general) I work for is certified so I only had to pay lab fee ($750). Usually its $3500-$4500 depending on whether its a full or express case. He sent off my impressions, then the align lab sent back all the aligners for treatment. I change them every 2 weeks and my dentist has to do some interproximal reduction and thats it. Pretty quick and easy and much more comfortable than braces.

thanks for all the assistance. I can put up to $5000 of pre-tax $ into my FLEX, and yes, invisalign is covered by FSA (yippee!).
