i might; i went to one earlier (before decisions were announced), there are several students and mr. ruiz and dr. remick. sort of fun, relaxed, and we get to learn more about the school.

no way jose! i was thinking the same thing when i went, especially since it was before decisions were announced, but nobody has capitalization or punctuation. in fact, i think dr. remick "michgan_admissions_dean" even didn't punctuate the end of a sentence or 2, so that is when i let the guard down 🙂
yep, nothing to worry about, just a neat way to learn about michigan.

I had wanted to participate in these chats, but the schedule session always fall on a day that I'm interviewing. How informative were the chats, and how many students generally participate? I would imagine that the more students that participate, the more helpful the chat would be.

pretty informative, honestly. i think about 10 students participated, and you can even get in a one-on-one chat with a student too. and, i would say about 20 applicants logged on (this was early october, i think).
you can ask any question about studnet life, curriculum, ann arbor, and get both an administration's point of view (mr. ruiz and dr. remick are, i think, true gentlemen and very frank in their opinions) and a lot of student's opinions too. i think the most talked about thing was "flex time" since it will impact your experience. definitely worth the hour or two.

Just realized this has been brought up earlier, but...

Isn't that thing nice? All embroidered and everything. I was just sitting at home when the UPS guy came. I wasn't expecting any packages and was shocked to get something so nice with a personalized card from director RFR saying "thanks for considering Michigan"

What a great gesture. Wearing that thing around will definitely make me want to go there more. I only wish I were a little bigger to fill it out more... haha

yah, that's pretty sweet. (although i haven't gotten one......yet?) they really do take care of their applicants, eh? i swear RFR has to be one of the nicest people i have ever met, and it's only his first year of doing this!
