Invited for interview 2011 Cycle

Hey everyone!!

Today i was sitting in class checking my mail just to see if any other dental schools received my application and i got an E-mail from Nova that invited me for an interview in September. I was so excited but shocked at the same time because my letters of recommendations have not been sent out yet (I am waiting on my committee to send all the letters). When i got out of class i called Nova to confirm the appointment, so at least it is legit. I just thought that all the schools needed the complete application before they offered interviews.

I was wondering if anyone else got invited for an interview either at Nova or anywhere else. If you have feel free to post it here so we can all see some progress.

I didn't even know interview invites would be granted this early! 😱

And by the way, great stats and DAT score! I'm sure that's what's really captivating the admissions reviewers looking at your application! 😉

I'm sure lmaozedong1 is just trying to be mean and discouraging because he thinks it'll weaken the competition in favor of his own benefit 😛

Nova sent out emails around this time last year too for interview invites. Its exciting to get that first interview. Not to put a damper on it but Nova will interview A LOT of applicants. One of the highest ratios of all schools. Good luck!

Thanks guys!! I am very excited but like sfrice80 Nova Does interview a lot of applicants. Either way i still have to stay positive because it is one step closer. @ skylark, i was schedule for September 15.

do many schools start offering interviews without seeing the letters of recommendation? I thought apps were considered incomplete w/o them 😕

Hey, congrats on the interview! Did you already complete and submit the Nova supplemental? I turned mine in last night and received a PDF of it, but that's all I've heard from Nova thus far.

From what I understand, most schools review your file when everything is complete, so NOVA is unique. Anyone else know of any other school that does the same?

click download file --> then open --> it'll ask for a password --> use your login id (not password) from the nova website

Yeah just use your login ID when it prompts you for a password and it should work.

I submit the Nova supplemental June 23 so i was early doing that. I couldn't open the PDF neither. I tried again today but i still couldn't open it.

I am positive other schools require the application to be complete before offering interviews, Nova might be special.

Oh I had no idea the supplemental was available on their website. I was under the impression we had to wait for the link in the email until we could access it.

I submitted my nova secondary last night, and today under the decision page they were the first school to actually update it to say "under review". Thank you nova for being on top of your game!

In my opinion Nova is really on top of their game, they Updated my decision page to say "under review" even before my application was sent out (because they have asses to the virtual applications). Today they updated it again saying "Invited for an interview." I have only gotten E-mail from other schools and Case sent out a letter in the mail but i guess they don't update the AADSAS page to often.

Just a heads up jacas, but predents.com is still currently in the 2010 cycle. I'm not sure when PDizzle is planning on updating it to 2011, but you might wanna hold off on entering your application status as all the information might be erased when the website is updated (if ever).

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

However, I still have no status update on AADSAS. I was wondering if anyone had similar correspondence from Nova. Any information is appreciated.

I have just about the same thing from Nova, just different dates. Here is my info:

Tufts U. will begin sending out invitations for interviews in October, and will start interviews in November. For some schools we really have to wait a while before any major news get sent our way.

Did you wait for Nova to request a supp app. or do you just go ahead and fill it out from their website??

@ SEG14 I submitted my supplemental app around June 23th. It was up in their web site and it didn't say to wait so i did it. I think Nova will be contacting other applicants soon about interviews.
