any oos applying to Iowa? I just had this vision that being in Iowa City would be awesome.

Yep! I have yet to visit, but I am quite impressed with everything I've read. Fingers crossed we land us some interviews.

Same here...but a quick question.

I got an email a month ago saying that they got my application and that they would contact me later about the secondary app. Has anyone heard more or less than this same email? I am compleetly finished will all secondary apps and all my checks are cashed but i still havn't done anything for Iowa...

Thanks

I got that email from Iowa on my mailing date (7/13) and haven't heard anything since then either. I am however set to received and under review on AADSAS.

I plan on applying to Iowa as an OOS applicant next cycle. I'm sure this isn't a whole lot of help for you right now, but I could dig on Iowa and seeing some wind mills on the way home for holidays.

I applied to Iowa OOS as well. Out of all the midwest schools, I have heard the most good things about Iowa's school and decent things about Iowa City. The biggest challenge for me to go there will be convincing my better half that it will be OK to live in Iowa for 4 years.

It's not a bad city to live in. Easy to get around. Current downfall to iowa is the construction you will have to deal with, but by the time you're in the clinics, much of it will be renovated. decent sim lab and support lab. Most of the faculty are very helpful. Some of the more difficult instructors ease up after you've graduated from being a D1 or D2 student..

Darn... App has been deferred. 🙁

I was really hoping to attend, from what I've heard it sounds like a great school.

Sorry this is a stupid question, but what does that mean? They'll review your apps later?? Or is that a flat out rejection?? Sorry again if this sounds like a stupid question, just bracing myself for whatever comes my way.

It means your application is no longer active. While is isn't a rejection, they won't be sending suupplementary applications to fill out or send an interview invitation. They can return to my application and reject me/invite for an interview later... But I don't see it as a great sign.

My app was sent out with the first batch, so if you were first batch as well and haven't heard anything you might be safe for now!
