I have seen many iPad/Mac threads about how useful they are throughout a medical career.... but I wanted to start a thread about specific applications and their uses.

I am starting med school in the fall and wanted to know what apps people would recommend that I get (especially for taking notes and organization).

Thanks!!!

go to youtube and check out iAnnotate and Notes+

I think those two would be all you need in terms of taking notes.

I also heard Netter's anatomy flash cards are a good buy.

I got iAnnotate, but ended up prefering the cheaper Noterize. I also worship the Netter's anatomy flashcards, they helped me a LOT, and I did them anywhere/everywhere when I was bored. Like solitaire, but Netters?

Also a big fan of the Medscape app, this is especially cool in the clinic. Inkling is great for the textbooks, you can buy them by the chapter for $1.99 each, they have some physio and anatomy texts on there that are good.

Flashcards + with an integration with Quizlet was awesome for me.

Pen preference- definitely the boxwave. Thinking about a keyboard, up at Cornell all of the students just got iPads and a wireless apple keyboard, but I'm thinking about one of the keyboard/case combinations. Anyone tried this?

I used my iPad all year without a keyboard and it was fine, but think there might be some use for it.

Love this post, thanks!! I got my iPad in January and can't wait to start using it for med school in a few weeks.
