iPad as a substitute for textbooks?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
It's difficult, for Bolognia in particular. The format isn't right, and it's hard to navigate/scroll.

Kindle is also kind of a pain... Not easy to do a quick search. Much easier to pull the orange book out of my white coat and flip to a page, or even the index then the corresponding page.

Android browsers don't work w/ Expert Consult terribly well either. So, that option sucks as well.

Stick'n w/ good old trusty the orange tattered, biopsy ink pen ink laden pocket book! I had a biopsy pen uncap in my pocket last week. Good times all around! Torn and now inked up. That coat has gotta go! 🙂

Maybe a silly question, but what is the orange book? About to start in a few weeks a good pocket source would be nice

Yah, it can be substitute to book but it can't be a replacement. There are lot of issues regarding books vs ebooks. Some people want to replace books by ebooks but there are weakness of the ebooks like it needs electricity, so in that you will take limited time in reading specially when you are outdoors compare to the typical books that you can read 24/7.

What books do you use for IPad? Any other electronic format that you use?

Shameless bump.

I know this is an old thread, but 2 years later, 6 weeks from my third year, and I can officially say that I am 100% book free. The transition was painful, including learning how to study using electronic format books, but it was worth it. My next step is transitioning from laptop to the nexus 10. I'll update you all how I take all 15,000 pages of references with me wherever I go, and answer most questions I have within about 5 seconds.

I'm close to book free as well. My husband travels a lot for his job so on the few occasions I tag along, it's nice to have everything on my laptop as opposed to lugging multiple large textbooks around
