Ipad with Apple Pen?

I'm currently in my last year of undergrad and have been seeing a lot more of iPads being used with apple pens! Would a laptop be sufficient for optometry school? I feel like it would be nice also having an iPad for specific classes like eye anatomy. Is it worth the extra investment, though?

My iPad and apple pencil were by far the best investment I made for school. A lot of people use them, and it was especially helpful for anatomy/physiology since there are some pathways and color coordinating structures really help. Personally, I couldn't get by with just a laptop, but it depends on your study methods.
