ipaq 3765?

just wondering if it is worth spending $260 for an ipaq 3765. Do any of you have any pros/cons with ipaq??? Do you find having one is really worth it?? finally, do you have any compatibility issues?? thanks!!!

A 3765 is a great deal for $260!!

You've got 4x the memory of any palm device, a nice screen, word, excel etc. etc...

I have a 3650 and a 3850 (I won the 3850 from MS!)

have you found any conflicts in compatibility...or wishing you had a palm for all the software?? i've been told there is a lot more free software available for palm yet ipaq/hm/sony provide more bells and whistles. Also, do you find yourself using it in a productive way-- is it an asset in your education/work??? thank you so much for your help in making this financial splurge 🙂 🙂

i am interested in the above questions as well. i absolutely love the user friendliness of my palm, the tons of free software, and fun stuff i can use it for.

i have one program that makes the device altogether worth the price... it's call four.zero - i have every syllabus loaded into it, weighting of each assignment, and can send it directly over to my todo lists and datebook (i never forget anything, for my classes anyway). this program also lets you input all your grades and will calculate your GPA as you go, report card as you go, and allows you to perform what if scenarios to see what you need on a final to get the A. single most useful program to students and i don't know if it is available for anything other than palm (check it out at palm.com in the software section, you can actually try it online without even owning a PDA).

still considering upgrading to one of the windows machines though but you gotta convince me first.
 
The iPaq deal sounds like a good price. Many medical software makers are beginning to produce for the WinCE, however most of the software, medical or otherwise, is still produced for the Palm OS PDA's.

Trying to compare Palm and iPaq/WinCE devices sptrictly on Memory and Processor is an apples and oranges comparison and doesn't really make sense. The iPaqs are quite good multimedia machines and handle MS word, and excel documents out of the box.

Palm OS machines are smaller and some have fantastic color and multimedia support, such as the Sony Clie.

Mostly it depends on what you want to use it for. Look for the machine and OS that has the software and functionality that you need. I've seen lot's of medical software for the Palm OS. Not as much for the WinCE platform. At this point I'ld still have to reccommend a Palm OS device for general usability.

my palm m500 came with documents to go (software that allows me to edit and create word and excel documents). i bought a fold out keyboard for $80 which now allows me to use the unit as a mini laptop. i bring it to class fold it out and in no time i'm taking down the prof's lecture at no less than 80wpm without having to lug around a laptop or worry about it being stolen (m500 slips in my pocket, keyboard in my bag).

could not live without a PDA now that i've become acustomed to it.
