Iphone apps for dental school

Any iphone apps recommened for dental school? Any apps helpful for studying? etc...

Angry birds, Unblock me, facebook, twitter, forusquare, cut the rope, kindle reader, wikipedia. . . Lectures are boring, you will need to be distracted without being too obvious in that lecture hall.

But on a serious note. if you aren't familiar with Drop Box, check it out, its free. They have a great iPhone app that syncs with your computer. I use it to study ppts or word doc study guides on the go. In my experience, I am so overwhelmed with student-made study guides, verbatims, ppts, referance articles, lab manuals, etc etc, that I couldn't handle another study method.

Maybe a flash-card maker, if there is one.

if ur iphone is jail broken grab the netter cards, and dent pix or dds gp you will find them very useful once u hit the clinic, especially when trying to explain to patients whats an onlay or an implant and you will look really professional when u whip that ipad and start playing some videos for them.

Ha! Reminds me when I was shadowing in the Oral Surgery department in the hosptial. They had a portable DVD player they would play 'complications of wisdom tooth extractions' on for the pts while they anesthetized another pt or whatever in another op. Anywho, some guy stole the dvd player, even though we had all his information. The residents weren't mad about the DVD player though, just about the disc inside that was worth 10x that.

Bottom line: I wouldnt trust my chapstick, pen, or pocketpets, let alone a iPad with a pt. . . Not suggesting you meant to leave it with them, but just saying.

I have a fun little app called Animated Tooth Quiz. I got it awhile ago on my iPod Touch before I had my iPhone, so I'm not sure if it's still around. It was helpful during my first quarter of dental school when I was taking tooth morphology, if I was bored in line for something or had a few minutes to kill since you have timed tooth identification tests throughout the quarter. It includes pedo teeth though, which are not tested.

well your obviously not going to leave your ipad or iphone with the pt. your going to show them then go back and hide it cause there will be a jackin lol but yah those apps really save you that 10 min talk on those procedures.

If your school records lectures, SpeedUpTV is a must. Or if they only record audio, there's an equivalent app for that from the same developer.
