IPPE Community rotation help!

Hello

I'm a P1 student at PCP and I'm planning to start my IPPE rotation winter break at Giant Pharmacy. I haven't called to schedule my dates or anything yet but that was what my question was about. I wanted to know if I should dress professionally (white coat and suit) when meeting with my preceptor just to set up hours. Also, any tips for my rotation and talking to my preceptor would be great!

I don't think I have ever seen anyone wear a white coat and suit.

By suit I just mean shirt and tie. Like I would while working on any IPPE rotation.

If you're just meeting the preceptor to set up hours and not coming in to work yet., just wear shirt and tie. No white coat needed until you actually come in to do your IPPE hours.

He's a PCP student, you're not. You're just gonna make the guy look unprofessional. White coats are expected for IPPEs at PCP, even in retail.

a phone call would probably suffice as well if you dont want to go there. Im sure people who go to school far away from their site are just going to that

I did my IPPE at GE too. I sent an email to ask about schedule and paperworks, etc. My prepceptor told me to bring my white coat, license, and assignments. Even if your preceptor didn't tell you to bring your white coat, you should because ppl at GE wear coats. BTW, their computer system is really outdated but I learned a great deal of good customer service while being there. Best of luck 🙂
