Hello!
I applied unsuccessfully to the 5-year medical programs offered by ABP for classes entering in Fall, 2013. I plan to re-apply next year after the MCAT and post-bacc courses, to both US and Irish schools.
My question is: What is the training path for an Irish doctor who remains in Ireland? I am a citizen by birth, and at this juncture would be happy to train in either the US or Ireland. Could I undergo specialty training such as neurosurgery in Ireland? Is the pathway similar to that of US doctor, namely residency, fellowship, etc.?
