I am looking for information regarding the different type/brand of iron products (otc & rx). Any suggestion?

Also, what do you guys think of emetrol? do you guys tell patients to take emetrol for vomiting? Any studies on emetrol? I am cautious because vomiting is the body's defense mechanism.

Technically, Emetrol isn't recommended for vomiting, because it's indicated for nausea. After a few of these :barf:, I think the body has accomplished its goal. In my opinion, I don't see anything wrong with taking Emetrol after vomiting.

In my opinion, it's basically the same idea as 7-Up for an upset/naseous tummy. It's just sugary and bubbly.

I recommend Emetrol for nausea but not for vomiting. Sure, you can have them drink soda but the Emetrol package says for nausea. Don't underestimate the written word for its placebo effect.

Last night, I had a guy come in and want something for his girl friend's "food poisoning". After talking with him, I determined that it was nothing more than an upset stomach. Throwing up once in the AM from food eaten the day before is not food poisoning. Unfortunately, I've had it and it is a very unpleasant experience. You just have to let nature run its course.
