They meet tommorow on their last interview group. Waitlist movement would probably start shortly thereafter - although a few people got off the waitlist two weeks ago, so I guess its already starting to trickle in.

Just found out I'm on alternate list too. Anyone have a good idea how this works?

I read on a thread from two years ago that the week after May 15th they officially place people on the alternate list (whatever that means).

Anyone have any details.

Checked my status page - apparently they updated it today (5/18)

Weird. Might want to call them and make sure you didn't fall through the cracks or something. I interviewed 4/26.

I interviewed there on 4/26 also. I am also on the alternate list as of today.

Did anyone who interviewed 4/16 get an acceptance? Did they tell you guys they were still going to accept 1/3 of you guys?

Yes, I interviewed on 4/16. We were also told that 1/3 would be accepted. I am very excited to have gotten the phone call. Yay!!! To those who are waitlisted, stay positive!!! I know many of the 1st years at UCI who were on the waitlist.

still no status change.. i will prob call next week if no word..

btw, it really did seem like a lot of ppl get off the waitlist.. four of the students i met on my interview day said that they interviewed last year in april and got in off the waitlist.. so don't lose hope!

Don't worry - I really do think they take a lot off the waitlist - but this calls for its own thread.

heyy UCI is my first choice for 2008 apps. Do you guys have any tips or suggestions? I'm currently a UCI student and hope that that goes a long way.

i got in off the w/l last week!!!!! i was emailed by dr peterson. i truly can't believe i finally got in, esp in CA. good luck to anyone else who's waiting...i guess what they say is true at UCI when they say keeping in touch over the summer really makes a difference.
