I currently have KAPLAN and Barron's DAT. I am planning to take my first DAT on 3/3. I finish Studying QR, PAT, CHEM. I am half way done with BIO. I haven't start O chem yet. I am not sure if 2 books are enough to prepare for DAT. I know the more books I study, the higher chance getting good score. But the point is there are many DAT books out there and time is limited. Is it worth to buy more books or focus on those 2 books I have? I am afriad even if I buy more book, I can't finish them on time. Any suggestions?

It depends. What are you aiming for?
How much time can you devote in the next 2 months?

I am aiming for at least 18. And I think I only get 1.5 month to prepare. Planing to study 4 hours a day. So should I buy more books? If so, which book might help the most?

90 days x 4 hours = a lot of hours

Do this:

AP Bio Cliffs: covers bio quite well. 3 bucks online + shipping
AP Barrons Bio: also works well for bio and very cheap. I liked it more than Cliffs.

For chem and ochem, you should be fine.

DAT Destroyer is good also, but quite expensive (150$). If you feel weak in the sciences after using the other materials then maybe get it.

For PAT, CDP is great. But IMO, unless you are very weak in it then practice tests like Topscore and Achiever should be enough.

Good luck.

I don't understand why people don't aim higher....it's one thing to try your best and get an 18 but its another to just settle for it, my opinion though.

This is my crazy regime (I don't expect anyone to follow my Bio route because I expect people to actually have lives but for the next 2 weeks I don't =()

Biology
Cliffs AP
Campbells (used to cover anything Cliffs doesn't)
High-Yield Biology (used as supplement)

GChem
Kaplan BB

OChem
Organic Chemistry as a Second Language (I & II)
Kaplan BB

PAT
Crack DAT PAT, everything else just doesn't cut it

....and of course Destroyer!

Wow that's hardcore dedication right there. Good luck.
I'm taking it in the summer and I'm going to study at least 6 hours per week throughout Spring, since I'm still taking courses. My main focus is to bring up my gpa! :xf:

I'm going to invest in Destroyer.

Ahh!!!

1.5 month = only 45 days

4 hrs x 45 days = only 90 hrs

2 books is very risky. 2 books with one being kaplans and the other Barrons is just silly. There is a very slim possibility that you will do well as neither book is particularly challenging and both are chock full of mistakes.

You picked two of the worst books if your'e shooting for a 20+. GET DESTROYER, ACHEIVER, TOP SCORE, CRACK THAT DAT MATH!!! Those are the books/software I used!! Just get as much as possible. Kaplan biology is a freaken joke!!

^But the OP is shooting for 18. Still I wouldn't trust my life with Kaplan and Barrons. Yes use Kaplan but make sure to use AP Cliffs, Destroyer, Gen Chem review text (i suggest princeton review mcat hyperlearning physical sciences book but u might not be able to find it)
