I am by all means an avg candidate. My Step 1 is 223, Step 2 is pending. I got high pass in Peds and Medicine and passes in everything else. I have done a lot of volunteer work with children. I have 8 interviews scheduled so far. Is that enough for me to match? Any input is very appreciated.

Are 8 interviews enough? Maybe- depends on the programs. If you have a good range of programs, 8 is probably OK. But I suspect that I could come up with a list of 8 pretty good programs where you would be almost guaranteed to match, as well as a separate list where matching might be difficult unless you are AOA or close to it. And don't discount the importance of the actual interview in the ranking process. My suggestion would be to talk this over with your faculty advisor and get his/her impression of your list and likelihood of matching at one of the 8 programs to which you have applied.

Just to throw some stats out there: assuming you are representative of the norm, data states that those who matched ranked a mean of 8 programs (meaning you would have to rank all your interviews). Those who did not match had a mean of 4 ranked programs. In other words I think you are ok as far as numbers go, but it depends on a lot of things.
