Is a 22 on the DAT enough to overcome a 2.97 GPA?

First semester I enjoyed college a little too much. I was able to pick it up after that and there was a general upward trend, but it never quite got to where I needed it to be. My science GPA is about a 3.05. 70 shadowing hours and counting, a year of AmeriCorps service plus some more volunteering hours. I currently work as an EMT. If I take Micro at a college near me and get an A I can raise it to 3.00. I've heard a high enough DAT can overcome any GPA. Is 22 high enough? PAT: 19 RC: 22 QR: 22 Bio: 21 GC: 21 OC: 23
What do you think guys I'm feeling desperate here.

22 is a good score (what I got BIO 22 OC 27 GC 22 PAT 19) but with your GPA you’re definitely borderline for some schools. When it comes down to it I’d bet money schools would give you interviews given your application is nice. However, that GPA will definitely work against you so apply broadly. You have a good shot, shadow more (~200 hours) and interview well and you stand a decent chance.

yeah, a high DAT can compensate for low GPA for PRIVATE schools.

Thanks. I know I should take a post-bacc but it's tough to relocate and I'll be honest I'm not sure about my chances to get the 4.00 I'd need in it. I'm really hoping if I can get an interview and add some more volunteer and shadowing time I'd maybe have a shot. Thanks again.
