I recently received score for step 1 exam. For the some background
UWSA 1: 216 (3 weeks to exam)
NBME 15: 217 (2 weeks to exam)
NBME 16: 237 (1 week exam)
UWSA2: 234 (4 days to exam)
Step 1: 212 -______- I have no idea what happened. Looks like Behavioral Science killed me although wasnt that bad during prep. As you imagine was totally devastated. But I cant dread it any longer cause it totally sucks. A lot. I am very much interested in Anes in state of Michigan, I got to a michigan school.
Above average but no honors year 1/2..honored few exams but not whole classes.
Summer Research (no paper) but did present at Michigan Society of Anesthesiologists and won 2nd place, actually beat out some residents (was MS2 at the time).
Have killer Anes letter from PI over the summer, still keeping in touch
Working on paper with Johns Hopkins and hoping to get great Anes letter from someone on their committee...although Hopkins is a long shot for me (being realistic)
Just started MS3...know i have to kill year 3, take step early and smash it...but question is, is all hope lost for something like UofM Anes (would be top choice)? Or even other Anes programs in Michigan?
