I am 🙁. I didn't think it would be so difficult but it really is. I'm deciding between UW and UT-Dallas. Is anyone else trying to decide as well?
Have you had a chance to visit both? I've worked with some researchers at UT-Dallas. If you're into CI's as I am, is a great place to be.

I know exactly what you mean! I never thought it would be this difficult, really. I expected, at the most, to be accepted to one program, and now I'm having to weigh the pros and cons of several! Both UW and UT-Dallas sound really nice! I've been to both cities and would have to say that Seattle is my personal favorite out of the two. I wish you the best of luck! 🙂 No matter which of the two you choose, you're going to end up at a good program.
Yeah, I'm with you all. I am deciding between two schools and feel really weird about having one month to decide where I am going to live for the next 3 years. I wish I could split the degree between two schools. What kind of questions should I be asking these schools right now? I'm really at a loss and stressing out over what to do.
I'm pretty close to making a decision, I'm just wary of making it offical yet. The key was figuring out what each school could do for me in becoming a future researcher and audiologist aka fit. You can bet I asked them this as well. I received a pretty convincing answer today from someone.
I would really take the time and email faculty with any questions you may have...it also would probably help to take note how responsive they are to answering questions (meaning if they respond, how well they answer your questions). I'm planning to do that more next week.
I would also try and get in contact with current AuD students at each school, I had the opportunity to speak with students at both my schools and it REALLY helped.
Also, if you know what area of audiology you are interested in, I would also consider a school that can best support your career interests.
It's hard I know 🙁 but you can't go wrong with either choice. You will make the right one.

I don't mean to repeat what you said, but I know EXACTLY what you mean. Seriously. I'm really trying to take a lot of things into consideration, first one being the reputation of the program, financial and faculty support, and living condition. For example, Wash U in st. Louis/and CMU has offered a nice financial package but if I go to SDSU, I'll be closer to my friends and family. Do you guys know anything about these schools? Any info would be highly appreciated. 😍
I don't know anything about CMU, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to Wash U in St.L. and I visited the program in October. Everyone I spoke to was extremely welcoming and the campus was really nice, too. The AuD program is part of the med school campus, which is completely separate from the rest of Wash U, and the facilities were all state of the art. If you're worried about moving to St. Louis, the med campus sits in a fairly nice suburban area. I didn't get to see the dorms, but I was told they are pretty nice and it's only for med students and para med (Aud, PT, OT) students so that's a perk. If you have any questions about WUStL, I can try to answer them for you 🙂
I'm trying to decide between Northwestern, UConn, and UMass. Northwestern is the better school of the 3, and is an accelerated program, which makes it appealing, but it is also really expensive, and would mean having to move away from my family and my boyfriend. The other two would be much more affordable, and would allow me to stay living with my boyfriend. It's tough because I obviously want to go to the best program possible, and I'd definitely prefer to be in a city over the middle of nowhere (like where UMass and UConn are located), but don't want to go alone. Anyone have any input about any of these 3 programs? I know this board has a very heavy midwest/west coast bias, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask.
I'm currently an undergrad at UConn and I am also trying to decide between UConn and Northwestern. UConn has a great program with some well-respected professors within the field. I know it is a very research based program, which is one of the reasons why I like it. I feel like clinical opportunities here are not as abundant as they would be in an area close to a city. I mean UConn has its own Speech & Hearing clinic on campus...and I know of maybe 2 other sites off campus but that's it. It would be cheaper for me because I would get in state tuition...but I really don't know if I could handle being in Storrs for 4 more years. I want to move to a city area and be at a school like Northwestern but I'm not sure if it's worth being in debt either. Let me know if you have any other questions about UConn!!!
Northwestern said that they would be notifying accepted students of scholarships this week....have you heard anything yet?
I haven't heard anything at all...I know there is only one full tuition scholarship available and a few partial tuition scholarships but I figured they would let us know in the acceptance letter. Are you waiting on any other schools to get back to you?
