Is ASTRONOMY an easy class to take. I noticed it falls under sci category?

totally depends on the school/professor. i have noticed in my experience the "easy" classes have a way of getting really hard when a professor realizes no one in the class is interested in the material and just wants an easy A. I would never recommend taking a class solely because it's supposed to be easy. take classes that interest you and that will make them easier...

I was enrolled in an astronomy class for one day. They started out with such mundane, you need to know this to pass third grade crap that I bailed. The only thing he could have done to make it more dumbed-down would be to go outside and point at the moon. "See? That's the moon. M-O-O-N. Moon!" (note, this coming from someone with mild interests and experience in astronomy and the space program).

But, as the above poster said, it will depend on what level class (100 vs. 800), what prof, and what school you're talking about. Ask other students at your school.

Hahaha, it's funny you mention this because I plan to take ASTR100(Introduction to Astronomy) next semester for the easy A. Not totally for the easy A though, because space has always been one of my biggest interests from ever since I can remember. Got so many books and have read so much on it...I don't think it'll be a problem 😀.

i found it fascinating and easy. got an A. but mostly because the professor was ridiculously tight. best professor i've had in 9 semesters.

Here, a lot of ppl who try taking Astronomy for an easy A end up having a really difficult time because it is very mathematical. You'd probably be better off getting opinions from others at your school.

I think most science-oriented people will be okay in astronomy. But I think the math (algebra/trig) really freaks out the football players in there. (Sorry, I don't mean to offend anyone who is a football player, if you're on SDN, you're the exception)

i always loved astronomy too; after all i was planning on being an astronaut. our course was not so easy but well worth the effort; it was so fasinating and we regularly had night viewings with a terrific telescope
