Is Cornell OMFS now only a 4 year program?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I was under the impression they had a 4 year and 6 year spot? Anyone know if this changed? It seems they now only offer 2 4 year spots...
That’s correct ! It’s a 4 yr program now

They lost the 6 year program because the med school curriculum changed (made it harder to complete the requirements) and the relationship between the med school and OMFS program was going downhill.

Also, not sure how the culture traditionally has been at Cornell but one of the chiefs there is really malignant and it doesn’t seem like the residents have each other’s backs.

Amazing program for orthognathics and dentoalveolar though. Dr. Israel is a TMJ expert. Little trauma (have to go to Queens hospital), little cosmetic, little path. They have a lot of GPR’s there too so I don’t think OMFS residents get much implant experience.
