How does disadvantage status work? Is it that you either are or are not, or are there different levels of being disadvantaged, and if so, how are they determined?
Is disadvantage status binary, all or nothing, or what?

To answer the OP's question, there are three levels dictated by AAMC for socioeconomic status.

From what I read, it the school's decision to consider you disadvantaged based on your SES and other factors like your disadvantaged essay.
