Is working in a real medical laboratory setting worth it if one is already doing solo projects with faculty at school? If good enough at school than goal is presentation.

When you say a real medical laboratory, do you mean a diagnostic laboratory or a research laboratory? What specifically would you be doing in this laboratory? What are you doing with the other faculty member?

I'm talking about either any lab outside school setting. I am working on project testing iron solubility with xylenol orange. What is best thing to do in a lab for a pre med? What lab is better diagnostic or research or something else?

a research lab would be your best bet.

What position within research lab specifically? Thanks!!!!

it's going to vary by institution what the actual positions are called. ideally you want something where you have progressive responsibility and independence in conducting hypothesis driven research.
