I'm a 3rd year still deciding what to do with my life and I like the excitement and variety that you see in the ER. I was just wondering how competitive it is. Also, what is their base salary?

Your questions are too broad and you can learn a lot if you can read the older posts on this forum. Generally speaking, EM is moderately competitive and the average salaries are around 200K per annum. There is a good variation in the salaries depending on various factors.
