Is enough time to change planes ?

I'm reserving my plane tickets and some have 30 minutes connection time or the time to change planes. I was wondering if it's enough time, I don't want to be late for my second plane.

I will have carry-on only.

How big is the airport? I recall I was able to pull off a 35 minute connection once but let me tell you it's not worth the stress. If Plane 1 is late at all you may very well miss the next one. Try and bump that up to an hour at least.

Even with a smaller airport, I'd try to give myself at least an hour of buffer time... I've been on too many late flights and I'd hate to miss a connection.

It depends on a lot of things, including the size of the airport, your familiarity with the airport, whether you're coming in a domestic flight and leaving on an international flight (probably not applicable to you now), whether you're coming in on a big plane and leaving on a puddle jumper, etc. O'Hare is definitely not an airport you want to risk it with.

Just a suggestion when you're in O'Hare. Your ticket will tell you to go to one gate, but your actual gate is somewhere else. Make sure you look at their TVs or ask someone before going to the gate.

Huge doesn't even begin to describe it. I literally ran from one plane to the other and it still took me almost 20 minutes, and they were in terminals near each other.
